Speeding up your XP.

Like most of the people who spend a large part of the day in front of their pc's or laptop's mostly suffer from reducing perfrmance of your OS .These simple 7 steps will help you in recovering your speed in a very efficient manner .
Step 1 Remove unused softwares
1.Go to Control Panel (Start->Control Pannel) and select add or remove programs
2. Going through the list select prigramns you rarely use and uninstall them .
3. There is a program which can ease your work in this case its YOUR UNINSTALLER.
It creates a list according to the programs usage and makes it easy for you to uninstall more effectively.
Everyone want's to have latest graphics or high resolution wallpaper's etc
installed ,but at what cost? At the cost of you performance .
Disabling usless graphics helps in increasing performance.
1. Go to Control Panel (Start->Control Pannel) go to system tab, select the advance tab and select the Settings under performance.

2. In the same Performance Options window, choose the Advanced tab, and press the Change button in the Virtual Memory area. From there you can change the size of your paging file – a file on your hard drive that acts as RAM. By increasing the size of your paging file, you can significantly increase speed.
3. In the visual effects window ,disable all the animation in the box or simply select adjust for best performance and click on apply .
Step 3 Regularly cleaning your registry
As you delete ,unistall ,install etc some considerable amount of useless registry gets collected .This often leads to decrease in performance .To avoid errors and removal useless registry files ,regularly registry should be cleaned .To handle this job there are many softwares out in market .Some reliable one's are
As you install different types of programs ,they setup a startup program .These programs start whenever you logon to your XP .Disabling the useless one's helps to free up space in RAM and increase XP performance .
2. Click on the Startup tab ,now going through the list remove checkmark for the programs you don't need .
Step 5 Performing disk cleanup
Performing disk cleanup can free up some space in your har drive and hence can increase performance .
To perform a disk cleanup :
1. Go to start and click on run .
2. Now type cleanmgr.exe and hit enter .
Step 6 Defragment your drives
As you delete files ,fragments get collected between data .These obstruct the processing speed. Defragmenting drives regularly helps to get rid of these fragments inreasin the processing speed .
1. In my computer right click on the drive you want to defragment and click on Defragment.
2. Click the Analyse button first, which will analyse your hard drive and see how fragmented it is.
3. If the report shows necessity of defragmenting the drive ,click on Defragment.
This takes considerable period of time so be patient.
Step 7 Using efficient antivirus programs
Your computer is always prone to viruses ,trojans ,worms etc. ,these directly effect the speed and lead to malfunctioning of your computer .There are a variety of antivirus programs in market, using one according to your requierments and keeping it up to date helps to protect your computer from the attack of these potentialy
harmful programs.
Note: Most of the tasks sugested here can be easily handled by pc optimization tool some of these leading market nowadays are
ADVANCE SYSTEM OPTIMIZER 3, TUNE UP UTILITY 2010, etc.

Sure !!there are two ways for it .
1st . through a software like readyboost (for more details check the upcoming post for this software ).
2nd .to use your pen drive for paging files follow the given steps :
1.right click MY COMPUTER and select properties.
2.select its ADVANCE tab and open SETTINGS under PERFORMNACE sub heading.
3.now move to its ADVANCE tab and click on CHANGE under VIRTUAL MEMORY sub heading .
4.now check mark SYSTEM MANAGED SIZE .
5.now either you can click ok and apply changes or you can choose memory space to be used from the pen drive .
*remember improper removal of pen drive can reult to data lose so before removing it revert all the changes .
